NMPP adds security/safety audit to EDS program

The Nebraska Municipal Power Pool is adding a security/safety audit service to its Electric Distribution Services (EDS) program to help address the growth of security threats and incidents around the country involving electric utility infrastructure. The addition of the service was announced at the NMPP Board of Director’s meeting in June.

The security/safety audit is similar to an electric utility infrastructure audit and would provide an assessment regarding strengths and weaknesses on a utility’s security and safety system with recommendations to fill in any gaps that may exist in the system.

The service is added to the menu of services under the EDS program or can be purchased as a service for a one-time fee based on an hourly rate. For more information on the new service, contact Mandy Hansen (ahansen@nmppenergy.org) or Rich Eymann (reymann@nmppenergy.org).
