Energy Efficiency Programs
The Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska, in partnership with the local electric utilities it serves, provides a suite of energy efficiency programs that offer cash incentives paid directly to customers to help cover the cost of energy efficient upgrades. A list of eligible MEAN communities can be found by clicking here. There are five programs each with their own guidelines and application form:
- Commercial LED Lighting Program Flyer
- Smart Thermostat Program Flyer
- Attic Insulation Program Flyer
- Cooling System Tune-Up Program Flyer
- High Efficiency Heat Pump Program Flyer
These programs are open to customers of MEAN long-term wholesale power participants, with funds being paid on a first-come, first-served basis until funds last. For a quick high-level overview of each program, click here. The program year runs April 1, 2022 through March 31, 2023. For questions, contact your local electric utility or Mandy Hansen at (800) 234-2595 or for email click here.
Additionally, MEAN pays 100 percent of the American Public Power Association (APPA) Demonstration of Energy & Efficiency Developments (DEED) dues for all MEAN Service Schedule M and K Participants (click here for a list of eligible communities.) The DEED program funds research, pilot projects, and education to improve the operations and services of public power utilities. More information on the DEED program can be found by clicking here. (An APPA account is required to access most features).
NMPP Energy Efficiency Programs
